What is a Page layout & Mailing Tab?

                                (Page Layout Tab)

Themes: - Themes is a set of many font styles by which apply the text and change its look.
To do this, do the following steps:

I. Select the Sentence or Paragraph on which you want to apply the themes.

II. Click on Page Layout and on Themes down arrow button. Will click After doing this, the list of Themes will open.

III. From that list, you will select Themes as per your requirement.

Change Page Margin: - It sets the margin around the page.
To do this, do the following steps:

1. We will click on Page Layout.

II. Then we will click on the Margin option down arrow. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

III. From that, we will select Custom Margin option. Doing this Gutter: Gutter position: The Dialogue box of Custom Margin will open.

IV. Now, according to your need in that box, you will set Margin and click on OK button.

Change orientation of page: - It sets the design of the page.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on Page Layout.

II. Then we will click on Orientation down arrow. A drop menu will open as you do so.

III. From that, we will select Potrait (long) or Landscape (wide) option. Orientation

working with Column: - This sets the number of Column in the page. To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on Page Layout.

II. Then we will click on the Column-down arrow. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

III. Type the number of Column in that drop down menu and click on the OK button.

Watermark: - Watermark is used to set the background inside the page. To do this, do the following steps:

I. Click on Page Layout.

 II. Then click on the watermark down arrow button. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

III. From that drop down menu, we will click on the Custom Watermark option. After doing this, the Dialogue box of Custom watermark will open.

IV. Now type the name of Watermark and click on the Apply button.

Apply Page Color: 

To do this, do the following steps.

I. Click on Page Layout.

II. Now, we will click on Page Color - Down arrow button. After doing this, the list of Page Color will open.

III. From that list, we select Color as per our choice.

Apply a Page Border:

To do this, do the following steps:

I. Click on Page Layout.

II. Now, we will click on the Page Border - Down arrow button. As you do this, the Dialogue box of Page Border will open.

III. You will click on the Art button in that Dialogue box. After doing so, the list of Page Borders will open.

IV. From that list, we select Page Borders as per their choice.

Set Indent and spacing: - It adjusts the distance between the Margin and Paragraph of the entire document.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. select the paragraph.

II. Click on Page Layout.

III. Let us set Indent and spacing under Paragraph Group.

Group: - Use a group to group more than one object into a group.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will select all the objects that we want to do in a group.

II. We will click on Page Layout.

III. Group will click on the down arrow button. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

IV. From that we will select the group option.

Mail Merge: - If you want to send the same message to many people, then use Mail Merge. Under this, two documents are made.

Letter: - Letter is written in it.

Data File: - In this, the address of the people to whom the letter is to be sent. To do this . The following steps are done:

I. Click on Mailing Tab and click on the Start Mail Merge option down arrow button. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

II. You will select the letter option from it.

III. Now, click on Select Recipients down arrow button. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

IV. From that, we will select Type a New List option. When doing so, the Dialogue box of Type a New List will open.

V. From that box, we will click on the Customize Columns button. After doing this, the list of Modify Address will open.

VI. Let's prepare everyone's address here and click on the OK button.

VII. Now click on the Insert Merge Field down arrow button and add all the address formats to the step by step - document.

VIII. Now click on Finish & Merge button.

Short Method of Mail Merge: Malling Tab → Start Mail Merge → Letter → Select Recipients → Type New List. . . Custom Columns Delete → Add → OK → Type Recipient Information → OK → Insert Merge Field Choose One By One Field → Finish Merge → Edit Individual → All → OK.

What is a Page layout & Mailing Tab

Spelling and Grammar (F7): - In the document used to perform Spelling and Grammar check. If the spelling is wrong, it underlines the red under the word and Grammar underlines the word under the word if it is wrong.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on the Review Tab.

II. Click on the Spelling & Grammar button. This will open the Dialogue box of Spelling & Grammar.

III. From the Dialogue box, select the correct menu and click on the Change button.

Thesaurus: - Synonyms of any word use it to look for words.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on the Review Tab.

II. Will click on Thesaurus. The Dialogue box of Thesaurus will open as you do so.

III. In that Dialogue box, type the word that Thesaurus wants to see and click on the search button.

Word Count: - It is used to count the word typed in a document.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on the Review Tab.

II. We will click on the Word Count button.

Protect Document: - Use this to secure your document by giving it a password.

 To do this, do the following steps:

I. We will click on the Review Tab.

II. Now, we will click on Restrict Editing option. By doing this, the Dialogue box of Restrict Editing will open.

III. There will be two options in this Dialogue box:


  • Formatting restrictions
  • Editing restrictions


IV. After setting both these options, you will click on Yes, Start Enforcing Protection button. After that the Dialogue box of the set password will open.

V. Type your password in it and click on the OK button.

                                              VIEW TAB

Macros: - If we want to repeat any task again and again, we do not record that command again and again and record it in Macro. You can later do that task by running Macro.

To do this, do the following steps:

I. Click on View Tab.

II. Now Macro will click on the down arrow button. A drop down menu will open as you do so.

III. In that Dialogue box, click on Keyboard lcon. As you do this, the Dialogue box of Customize Keyboard will open.

IV. In that Dialogue box, type your shortcut key (Alt + H) in the Press new shortcut box and click on the Assign button. Mouse pointer turns into a graphic as it is done.

V. After this, all the work that is done is recorded in Alt + H.

VI. Then Macro will click on the down arrow button and click on Stop Recording option.

Running a Macro: Press Alt + H where you want to use the recorded data in the document.
